  1. ktrb says:

The DUI and suspended license would have been enough to earn her some jail time. Add in assault on an officer, and she’s looking at some serious time in jail.

  2. cclover _ says:

DUI and Driving while license suspended will get her in jail (misdemeanor charges) and assaulting a police officer is a felony and more jail time.

  3. D J says:

Sounds like you should find a new friend, she may be going on a little vacation paid for by the State of Ill

  4. Bear says:

DUI and driving while license suspended are all misdemeanors in Illinois. However, if your friend is suspended for DUI or has had an arrest for DUI in the last 5 years (in Illinois or any other state), the charges can be upgraded to Aggravated DUI which is a felony.

Any physical contact with a police officer in Illinois is Aggravated Battery to a peace officer. A felony as well.

Jail/prison time is for sure but the amount of time will be determined at their trial.

    I agree with everyone else.
Point of clarification–if by “hit a cop” you mean wrecked her
car into a cop car, she’ll be paying for the cop car, in addition to all her other problems.
