How much of a plastic surgeon's salary goes to malpractice insurance?

I’m just about to graduate high-school and am interested in the health and medical field, specifically cosmetic surgery. However, someone recently told me that it isn’t worth it because most of a surgeon’s earnings goes into medical malpractice insurance and I might as well save myself the torture of med school and just look for a different career with a lower salary and little or no malpractice insurance to deal with. So I’m just curious about what other people have to say about that. Is my friend right?
