When you get arrested for a DUI, does it physically say on the ticket "Driving Under the Influence" or a "DUI"?

When you get arrested for a DUI, does it physically say on the ticket “Driving Under the Influence” or a “DUI” or does “unlawful consumption of alcohol liquor” mean the same thing?

  1. slide5150 says:

It is usually listed by the vehicle code you broke…but that varies state to state.

  2. Laslos k says:

no, DUI is when your driving down a public road legally intoxicated. unlawful consumption of alcohol liquor which should be “unlawful consumption of alcohol – liquor”, is when a minor is caught drinking. I suppose it could be someone over 21 if they were drinking is a school zone, convience store, etc… but they are NOT the same thing.

BTW the ticket can say DUI or Driving Under the Influence it really doesn’t matter.
